SMARTBLOCK® 300: ultra-lightweight insulating block, λ 0.080
SMARTBLOCK® 300 is the lightest and most insulating block in the range: 300 kg/m³ and an equivalent thermal conductivity of 0.080 W/mK. A 33 cm wall with traditional plaster on both sides reaches a thermal transmittance U of 0.227 W/m²K; at 50 cm it drops to 0.153 W/m²K.

Masonry built with the SMARTBLOCK® building system by ESB S.r.l., consisting of solid blocks for walls to be plastered, suitable for internal and external walls, CE-marked to EN 771-3, category II, made of cement-based concrete with a super-lightweight insulating aggregate of virgin expanded polystyrene beads of controlled density and graded size (Ø 3–6 mm), treated during production for full workability with the hydraulic binder. Item B.33.300: nominal dimensions L 500 × W 330 × H 200 mm, tolerance D1, density 300 kg/m³ ±10%, equivalent thermal conductivity 0.080 W/mK, reaction to fire class A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1). The wall, plastered with 1.5 cm on both sides, will have a thermal transmittance U of 0.227 W/m²K and a calculated sound reduction index Rw of 47 dB. Laid with Malta Block 600 thermal mortar (EN 998-2, M2.5) with staggered joints. Including the forming of jambs and lintels, any special pieces, anchoring to the structure and reinforcement as required by the designer.
